Apple announced the iPhone 16 series nearly a week ago. While some Apple users weren’t fully satisfied, the most praised feature of the iPhone 16 was the camera button. Now, Chinese brand Realme has already managed to imitate this well-known iPhone 16 camera button.
Realme model with iPhone 16’s camera button imitation revealed
Although Apple isn’t always the first to introduce innovations, any new feature on the iPhone often sets trends. Apple, which previously started the notch trend, now seems to be setting trends with its camera button. Realme’s Vice President and Marketing Director, Chase Xu, shared a short video on Weibo.
The striking element in the video was the camera button on the device. As you may know, camera buttons on smartphones are not entirely new—Sony still includes physical camera buttons on its phones today. However, the tactile camera button that Apple introduced with the new iPhone has garnered significant attention in the industry.
Realme has clearly managed to imitate this much-discussed innovation in a short time. In the short video, the unnamed Realme model features a camera button located in the same spot as the new iPhone models. According to the video, this camera button allows users to adjust settings like focus and zoom, just like on the iPhone 16 models. And of course, this camera button operates with tactile feedback, just like the iPhone 16’s.
We don’t have much more information about this Realme model yet, but speculation suggests that Realme will introduce this feature in a flagship model.
While Apple often sets trends, it tends to apply certain functions and designs to iPhones after they’ve appeared on Android models. For example, although the first multi-camera phone was made by HTC, the trend didn’t take off until the iPhone 7. Similarly, the design of the iPhone 6, which became widely popular, was previously seen on an HTC model. Nevertheless, it became a trend with the iPhone.
